Occult Vibrations on Instagram

A few weeks ago I started an Instagram account for my Occult Vibrations blog; taking some of my favorite images off of the blog and sending them out into the void that is click-to-like instantblogging. I’ve started to run out of pre-scanned images, so I’m actually going to have to start working at it soon. Should be fun. If you feel like following you can do that here: Occult Vibrations on Instagram.

Sailor Sid Dachshund

I’ve been procrastinating importing some new Sandbox video content for the last week; my wife and I recently added a new four footed member to our family and as much fun as importing and cleaning up video might be it pales in comparison to watching our new kitten smacking around a crumpled up Target receipt for twenty consecutive minutes or trying to encourage our twelve year old Italian Greyhound (Mr. Bailey Papers) to accept a tiny ball of furless energy into the family.

I’m sure Sailor Sid was equally in love with his dachshunds and would totally understand that our pets come first.

Reading Glasses

When I’m scanning vintage prints or flipping through digital files on a backup drive, I’m almost always drawn to candid photos over more graphic or procedural ones. Earlier tonight I transferred a 40gb video of Jack having silicone injections over to digital storage and while I’m sure it would be much more of interest to a lot of our readers, I kept going back to this photo of Jack, legs kicked up reading for tonight’s update. It’s been 21 years since I’ve seen him and while our modification experiences certainly helped define what I’m trying to accomplish with Sacred Debris I can honestly say that just spending time with Jack relaxing in his living room talking about nothing special is what I miss the most.

1980s, possible DC or Maryland.

Tattooed Everywhere

Are you tattooed everywhere?  Genital tattoos have seemingly slipped in popularity over the course of the last few decades. Flip through photos from the collections of Jack Yount, Sailor Sid and Mr. Sebastian or the pages of Jim Ward’s PFIQ or Fakir’s Body Play & Modern Primitives Quarterly and you’re likely to find as many people with erotic tattoos as without. It’s a shame really, and something I hope to fix in my own tattoo collection sooner rather than later.

Bob had his penis tattooed in the early 1980s by Cliff Raven; this photo sees him displaying it after a bit of vacuum pumping.

Winky Spot

The process of getting a guiche piercing was, without a doubt, the funniest thing I’ve ever done on all fours involving a surgical marker and a sharp implement. Those who’ve been around the piercing scene long enough to remember the knee/chest method of performing a guiche will likely also remember the ‘winky spot’ portion of the procedure.  Jack Yount performed this guiche piercing in 1986 at a Knoxville, TN tattoo convention. I’ve been trying to find out more info on who did the client’s tattoos but so far no luck.

Picture in Picture

When I first approached Jack Yount about the possibility of doing my meatotomy, he gave me a photocopy of a chart of basic line drawings of possible male genital modifications with exotic names like the Full Persian Butterfly and Cobra to educate me on some of the options available. To this day I have no idea where or when the drawings originated, just that Jack had a folder of them ready for anyone interested in his modification work.

The gentleman in these photos may have seen Jack’s chart, detailing the process of forming his own Cobra.

These date back to the late 80s/early 90s.
